Report a Litter Hotspot

Know an area where our team can clean up litter? Let us know. We will add it to our litter hotspot suggestions for our volunteers and report it to the appropriate litter crew.

For litter along county roads, you can report litter to the Knox County Solid Waste Department here.

For litter along city roads, you can report litter to the City of Knoxville by calling 311 or through the My Knoxville app. Watch the video below for step by step instructions on how to report litter through the My Knoxville app.

Spot a Litterbug?

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) hosts an online litter hotline for concerned citizens to report littering from vehicles on the state's roadways. To report a litterbug, call 1-877-8-LITTER or fill out the TDOT online form. With the information you provide, TDOT will send a friendly reminder letter to the owner of the vehicle that includes information about the negative consequences of their litter and how to contain it, plus it informs them that litterers can be fined up to $1,500.
