KNOX COUNTY COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION GRANTS FOR 2024-2025

The first step toward making a difference is often the hardest step to take. At Keep Knoxville Beautiful, we commend anyone willing to work toward making their community a better place – and we want to help you. We love to work with and support community groups who share in our vision for clean, green and beautiful Knox County communities.

This year, we are seeking proposals from community groups inspired to take on a community project that aligns with our mission: To inspire and empower Knox County communities to improve their quality of life through beautification and environmental stewardship. Projects must promote at least one of the following: litter prevention, waste reduction, community beautification, or environmental stewardship.

Eligibility:

  • This year, we are only accepting applications for projects in Knox County (outside of City limits). We want to focus some attention on projects in areas that do not have access to resources like the Office of Neighborhood Empowerment Small Grants Program or the City Challenge Grant. (If your project is in Knoxville City limits, you can look into those two resources for projects next year)

  • Any Knox County community group, including schools, neighborhood associations, religious organizations, etc. are eligible to apply. We do not provide financial support to for-profit organizations and political groups.

  • Note: Only schools located outside of City limits are eligible to apply

  • Project organizers must have permission from the property owner for the project to be eligible

  • Project must be complete by June 30, 2025

Examples of projects that fall under our purview include, but are not limited to:

  • Tree plantings

  • Butterfly gardens

  • Community gardens

  • Murals

  • Graffiti removal and repainting of wall

  • Large scale litter pickups (100+ volunteers)

  • Educational projects that promote beautification and environmental stewardship

  • Outdoor classrooms

Some of the ways in which we at KKB can help projects are through:

  • Funding
